Upon a request from a horse owner who had a dangerous and traumatic situation arise with their horse being tied, I was asked to write an article about tying horses.

Respect is something that is earned and given freely. It can’t be bought and it doesn’t come via force, we cannot demand it. Respect has no fear in it. It means to admire, hold in high regard and show courtesy toward.

One of the most important lessons I learned from Walt and Amos was the difference between making a horse do a job and allowing him to do a job. It was clear that most of us get so focused on a job that it is the job itself that becomes important.
