With many Australian wildlife, exposure to areas beyond their normal environment can be dangerous and sometimes, fatal.
Chaddie the koala had a lucky escape.
This male koala sustained extensive road rash injuries from a road accident where he was required to have thirty stitches on various parts of his body under the expert supervision of Dr. Claude Lacasse, who was determined to make sure this little man got through.
Claude is the Veterinary Services Manager at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital and believes the most success weve had using the Equissage and Canine Performance Systems (CPS) equipment is on the Koalas.
Shortly after Chaddie was stitched up, lymphatic swelling set-in and was not leaving. After four-five days of barely any change, daily Equissage and CPS treatments were introduced to his recovery and the swelling instantly started to dissipate.
Two weeks on, Chaddie went downhill with bloating and usually when they do that, its not good. Combining medicinal assistance and Equissage treatments, the bloat was gone after two long days.
Claude initially treated Chaddie every two hours with Equissage and CPS products before reducing his treatments to every four hours and says Chaddie still has a small amount of lymphatic swelling but he is at least three times better than what he was before being treated with the Equissage equipment.
Chaddie is still recovering, yet Claudes work is truly remarkable as some of the wounds she was required to stitch are in extremely difficult and delicate areas, yet the stitching appeared perfect and obviously completed with a great deal of care and expertise.
The team at Equissage wish Chaddie a quick recovery and are very happy to be able to assist his journey.
