EQUITANA’s HIGH FLYING FRIDAY

Friday 8th at Equitana was one of high flying action as audiences enjoyed the Olympic disciplines of Jumping, Dressage and Exhibition Eventing.

Carl Hester’s Education demonstrations have been knee deep in fans and his easy-going manner and great delivery generated resounding applause.  There are still some tickets available for his clinic, so come along to the Sydney Showground and you can buy them at the gate.

Our trainers in the Mitavite Waler Legacy program have been astounding crowds with their Waler partners.  It has been truly amazing to watch these horses, which only 12 months ago were running wild in Central Australia, performing as working horses with a real bond with their human mates.

And the shopping! It’s lovely to see hundreds of happy people loaded up with bags and big smiles as they wander around the exhibition precinct and pick up the fantastic bargains available!

Our competition program ran hot with a big day featuring the “Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final” series.

  • The Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final Exhibition Eventing (Dressage)

The Dressage phase of the competition was delivered in fine form with Soigne Jackson & Warrego Collateral Damage taking out first place. The pair was followed closely by Emma Mason & Poker Face and Tim Boland & Umunga.

  • The Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final CDI-W Grand Prix Dressage (which is a WEG 2014 Qualifier)

Sheridan Ashwood & Prestige took out the CDI-W with a score of 68.234% in the morning competition.  Following were the Dynamic Ryan team with Heath & Regardez Moir scoring 67.596 and Rozzie & CV Bullwinkle on 67.340%.

  • Arabian Horse Breeder’s Alliance Australasia Cup

Results will be available on 9/11/2013 on http://www.equitana.com.au/competition-results

  • The Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final Exhibition Eventing (Jumping)

Wow what an exciting competition it was today!  Indoor eventing added an extra element of thrills with the tight manoeuvrability of the course.  Our winner was Sam Lyle on Carson Hill with a time of 92.03. The pair was closely followed by Shane Rose on APH Rusalka with a 97.05 score and Elizabeth Lowery on KL Kismet on 109.94.

  • Linda Parelli (USA)

Linda certainly opened a few eyes with her “Horsenality” presentation this afternoon.  Her logical and entertaining delivery had the crowds fascinated as she encouraged them to look at horses and training outside the box.

  • The Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final World Cup Jumping Finals

The crowd was buzzing with excitement as the Jumping evening opened.  The Jelly Bean Jump Band was a perfect choice of warm up entertainment for the night and set the stage well for our horse and rider combinations.

Results for the Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final World Cup Jumping will be available on the Equitana website http://www.equitana.com.au/competition-results
