A record number of riders from across NSW the ACT and interstate are preparing to compete at the 2018 NSW Dressage Championships, to be held at Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC) from August 29 to September 2 2018.
The championships will be held over four days and include Open competitions up to Grand Prix Level, Amateur, Pony and Para-Equestrian divisions.
A total of 234 riders – the highest number ever – will compete more than 300 horses over the course of the championships.
Dressage NSW President Helen Lawson said the extra categories would encourage more riders to compete in the Olympic sport across NSW.
“We are pleased with the continuing growth of the sport in this state, and want to encourage grass-roots competitors to come up through the ranks,” she said.
“At the same time, we offer extremely strong competition for our professional riders and are pleased these championships will feature the state’s top riders once again competing across the levels.
“We would encourage spectators to come along and see what the sport of dressage is all about and watch the best horses and riders that NSW has to offer go through their paces.”
Admission to the championships is free on all days. Parking, catering and bar facilities are available at the venue.
